Violinist Daniel D: Epic Sounds Review

In the world of modern day music there are several "paths" that music can be taken for an instrumentalist. With music constantly evolving instrumentalists HAVE to do what is deemed "unorthodox" to seasoned musicians. The violin for example is an instrument that has become a common occurrence to see outside the orchestra. Violinists are now playing in the genres of rock, EDM, and even blues. Violinist Daniel D. is one of those violinist that decided the violin could fit in a different setting such as hip-hop & R&B.
Daniel D.'s album "Epic Sounds" is a perfect example of the violin putting a foothold in a widely popular genre of  music. Epic Sounds is Daniel D.'s "junior" album. Having a discography of ten plus albums "Epic Sounds" continues to be Daniel D.'s most popular album to date. This is realized after listeners hear the production, writing, and timbre of this album.

This album features smooth covers from artists such as Usher (There Goes My Baby), Musiq Soulchild (So Beautiful), and Justin Timberlake (Until The End Of Time). His original records such as "Lullaby" and "Heartbeat" let the violin sail smooth over full R&B sounds. I'm not going to lie I'm a bit biased over these songs as I was the producer of these two records (Daniel D. actually produced the majority of Lullaby I only did the drums)! Daniel D. even covers Grover Washington's "Mister Magic" to let listeners know he can navigate the waters of old school jazz and to pay respect to an instrumental legend.
Epic Sounds should be in your collection if you're a fan of the violin. This album is also a  great introductory album for people that want to hear Hip-Hop violin. Daniel D. executes perfectly how the violin is not just a classical instrument, but a modern one as well. Epic Sounds not only has the ability to expose listeners to another style of violin, but a sound that will push other violinists to follow suit. I am continually inspired to pick up my own violin (or viola) whenever I hear this album.
